Web Applications
A "web application" is software that resides on a web server that exists to perform a certain function. Examples of web applications are shopping carts, member registration, message boards, chat rooms, etc. Skeey has implemented those applications and others either as additions to existing web sites or as part of a complete web site redesign.
Specific examples include:
- A vendor management database application for a bank that lets certain bank personnel view and track vendor information for auditing purposes
- An intranet store where employees can "spend" earned points on company apparel and gift certificates at over 100 restaurants and retail shops
- A Flash-based trivia game that lets employees test their knowledge on a variety of topics in a fun, easy-to-use manner
- A secure event registration site where external clients can complete a dozen order forms that were previously faxed or mailed in to the client and tracked manually.
The breadth and depth of a web application is only limited by the imagination (and, well, your budget).
