Friday ORF-sized tidbits
More random thoughts and facts....
- My mom took time out from writing her memoirs (tentatively titled "Hidden Genius: The Life & Times of Sue Shaw") to answer two questions this week. The first, from Kathy, deals with cleaning license plates. That tells me that Kathy's either a collector or an interstate criminal. Hopefully the former, because neither Skeey nor my mom tolerates crime. The second has to do with white sugar. Apparently, my mom's the sugar expert, which is hilarious because my dad does all the cooking. Which gives her time to read books in her study. And by "read books in her study", I mean "watch Home and Garden in the spare TV room". But that's just semantics.
- A happy five-year anniversary to our very own Chris Kane and his wife Jen. Five years....who'd have thought. And to think that he was a good-looking dude for four and a half of those years.
- New NetFlix recommendation -- Season 1 of "Lost". Yeah, I know that I'm very late to the bandwagon on this one. Truth is, never saw an episode the first two seasons, nor had any desire to watch it. But I figured I'd give Season 1 a shot via NetFlix. Popped in the first episode, expecting not to like it and call the experiment off early. Instead, got hooked from the first five minutes, and then blazed through 24 episodes in record time. I have no idea if Season 2 was any good, but Season 1 is a classic.
- Gavin is kicking butt on the daily "Price is Right" Showcase Showdown contest. The man simply knows retail. Need to know how much an RV costs? He's your guy.
- The 6th annual Shawn M. Nassaney memorial race is September 17th at Bryant University. Tickets will be available for on-line purchase soon. So please come out and support a good cause. Plus my mom and I will be there. Autographs limited. Umm, yeah.
- We're up to 4 friends on our MySpace page. Beat that, people! Actually, five people, cuz Danny Lewin's so cool that he counts as two.
