The Mystery of Non-Pork Sausage

What's the easiest way to remove pork casings from non-pork sausages? Thank you very much for any advice you can give me!!

Answer:

Dear Aisha: To date, this has been the toughest question for Al's Mom. I did a lot of research on different sausage sites (who knew there were so many?). I finally sent an email to the North American Sausage Association on Monday and got the following response today.

We received a copy of your email from INSCA asking about removing the casing from pork sausage. If the casing is a "natural" pork or sheep casning you do not have to remove it as it is edible, If you wish to remove it because a particular receipe instructs you to than you can just squeeze the meat out of the casing or peel it off.
