The Bachelors
CK's Bachelor Party
I was the first out of my brothers to get married. I chose Bill and Mike to be my co-bestmen. For my bachelor party, they rented a couple of houses in Martha's Vineyard for a weekend in June. There were about 20 of us there. Now for those of you who haven't been to the Vineyard, it's a very quaint island off of Cape Cod. You take a ferry from Woods Hole to get there. The streets are lined with little shops and it is known for it's "gingerbread house" styled architecture. In short, it's not a typical bachelor party location!
Friday - Day 1
We went deep sea fishing all day. The weather was about 96 degrees, slight breeze, and we had a few coolers of ice cold beer on the boat.
No wonder the captain of the boat gave us dull hooks that could hardly pierce the skin of a worm! After we went fishing, we headed out for
the night and ripped it up at some dancy-type of place. Somehow throughout the night, I ended up having my
shirt ripped to shreds, turned into a bra, and a crown of leaves on my head ...
in the middle of the bar.
Saturday - Day 2
We went to the beach all day on Saturday. The weather was perfect! As we swam in the ocean, the water was so clear that we could actually
see HUGE striped bass swimming all around us. That night, all of us got showered up and ready for the night. Before we went to the club,
Mike and Bill rounded up all the guys around a table for a celebratory shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey. As we all prepared
to lift our glasses, they placed a large paper bag on top of the table and said to me "You didn't think we'd let you get away that easily
tonight, did you?" I didn't know what they meant, but I knew whatever was in that bag was going to be trouble. I inquired "What's in
the bag?"...they replied, "Your outfit for the night". Wonderful. Without giving anything away, you can just look at the pictures to
see what I had to wear THE ENTIRE NIGHT...keep in mind, we had to walk about a mile to the bar throughout the busy streets of Martha's
Vineyard.
It turns out it was my sister's prom dress from 1980! The back of the dress didn't close at all and it was open in a big "V" in the back. My mother made a veil out of some old curtains she had lying around. To make matters worse, the guys made me drink White Zinfandel throughout the night.
BK's Bachelor Party
BK was the second one of us to get married. He chose me and Mike to be his co-bestmen. Since we had such a blast at my bachelor party, Mike and I rented THE EXACT same houses in Martha's Vineyard for a weekend in July. Again, there were about 20 of us there. Finally, it was my turn to get him back for the dress.
On Saturday night, before we went out for the night, we again rounded up all the guys around "the table" for a celebratory shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey. At this point, everyone knew something was in the works, but they weren't sure what. So, in customary style, Mike and I placed the dreaded paper bag on the table and let Bill know that the contents would be his outfit for the night. Since Bill is a drummer, we went with a different theme to embarass him...

Kaner's Bachelor Party
Kaner was the last (but not least) one of us to get married. As you could probably guess by now, he chose me and Bill to be his co-bestmen. While we would have loved to have the bachelor party in the Vineyard again, he was getting married in February. Martha's Vineyard is not the most happening place in the winter. Therefore, Bill and I decided to take the party up north. We rented a really great ski house in Killington, Vermont called "The Tuck It Inn". It's walking distance from a couple of great bars, namely The Pickle Barrel and The Wobbly Barn.
We knew it was going to be cold, so we had to come up with something with a winter-theme. So, for a few weeks before the bachelor party, I scoured eBay for the perfect winter outfit. On Saturday night, before we went out for the night (you probably know where this is headed), we gathered around the table and layed down the outfit in front of Mike in two cardboard boxes (it was pretty bulky). Here's Mike's outfit for the night...
